Bruce McCain withdraws from Multnomah County Sheriff's race after losing key endorsement. HIS OWN MEN!

IT WAS A HUGE SETBACK FOR THE YELLOW TOOTHED ASSKISSER!

Bruce McCain withdraws from Multnomah County Sheriff's race after losing key endorsement...FROM HIS OWN MEN! Pretty freaking pathetic to work somewhere for 25 ish years and the men who work for you don't think enough about you to support your run for Sheriff (again) lol. LEWWWWSER!
Multnomah County sheriff’s candidate Bruce McCain ran on a corrections platform. So he decided to call his campaign quits after he failed to garner the endorsement of the sheriff’s corrections deputies union.
McCain, who retired from the Sheriff's Office in April,
withdrew from the race today after learning last night that the union endorsed interim Sheriff Dan Staton.

“It’s really straightforward,” McCain said today. “The corrections union, I was banking on that being my core group of support. Losing the corrections vote frankly was more harmful to me than any other endorsement.”  (YOU THINK?)McCain says he placed first in the union’s initial vote, but didn’t get the necessary majority. Staton placed second, followed distantly by candidates Corrections Sgt. Muhammad Ra’oof and retired Undersheriff Tom Slyter.

Almost a third of the union members who voted didn’t choose to endorse anyone in the first ballot. But in the run-off between McCain and Staton, McCain only picked up nine votes while Staton picked up 40. Staton comes from the law enforcement side of the office.

“I very much respect their decision,” McCain said. “I am not bitter. Disappointed, yes, but that’s their decision and it’s very hard to lead an agency without internal support.”

McCain was widely considered Staton’s main competition in the race. McCain said he has no plans to endorse another candidate.

Voters on May 18 will select a sheriff to fulfill retired Sheriff Bob Skipper’s term and for a new 4-year term that begins 2011.
